She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Miller has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in six consecutive pitching appearances. Miller was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Aubrey Multerer was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and a double. Genesis Lebron was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
On Cannon's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Layla Wagner, who went 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Freedom Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Cannon, they now have a losing record at 5-6-1.
Freedom Christian Academy will head out on the road to challenge Wayne Christian at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
