Chancellor has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Culpeper County Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chancellor has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 632 points over their last ten matchups.
Chancellor posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 60-29 victory over King George at home. Given Chancellor's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while King George is ranked 390th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chancellor relied on the efforts of Seth Hunter, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and five steals, and Larell Edwards, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Edwards has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Charles Brown, who scored five points along with six assists and six steals.
Meanwhile, Culpeper County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 70-52 fall against Caroline. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Culpeper County in their matchups with Caroline: they've now lost three in a row.
Chancellor is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. As for Culpeper County, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-10.
Chancellor was able to grind out a solid win over Culpeper County when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 57-48. Does Chancellor have another victory up their sleeve, or will Culpeper County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
