The Loretto Mustangs stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Mt. Pleasant 72-26 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-12.
Leading Loretto to victory were Libby Sanders and Ally Weathers. Sanders scored 16 points, while Weathers scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sanders has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ally Augustin, who scored nine points.
The win makes it two in a row for Loretto and bumps their season record up to 21-2. As for Mt. Pleasant, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-18.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Loretto will challenge Richland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Richland is coming into the matchup with six straight victories at home, meaning Loretto will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. As for Mt. Pleasant, they will head out on the road to take on Summertown at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Summertown will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Mt. Pleasant surely won't give up without a fight.
