The Trinity Christian Lions can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 73-47 margin over Troup County. Given Trinity Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while Troup County is ranked 324th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Trinity Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gabbie Grooms out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Bennett, who scored 20 points along with five steals.
Trinity Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Troup County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.
Trinity Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against North Clayton at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. North Clayton is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Troup County, they will challenge Whitewater at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Whitewater has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 9.
