Luverne got themselves on the board against Jackson County Central on Tuesday, but Jackson County Central never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won nine matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Landyn Lais and Blake Sauer did most of the damage at the plate: Lais went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Sauer went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two runs gave Lais a new career-high. Carter Sehr was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Luverne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jackson County Central only posted an OBP of .316.

The victory (which was Luverne's fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Jackson County Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
