Basketball Recap: Zoey Robinson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Seminary

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Purvis's strategy against Seminary on Friday. The Purvis Tornadoes enjoyed a cozy 39-24 victory over the Seminary Bulldogs. The Tornadoes have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Purvis' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zoey Robinson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 boards. Robinson is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Noa Bolar, who went 6 of 15 en route to 14 points along with seven steals and six boards.

Purvis smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 29 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in ten consecutive games.

Purvis' victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Seminary, they dropped their record down to 3-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Purvis will take on Sacred Heart in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Purvis is facing Sacred Heart at the right time seeing as Sacred Heart is stuck on a six-game losing streak. Seminary and Heidelberg will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
