The Mercer Island Islanders will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Juanita Ravens at 7:00 p.m. Mercer Island will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Mercer Island beat Newport - Bellevue 27-21.
Mercer Island had a senior duo take command as Luke Myklebust rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries and Cole Krawiec rushed for 68 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Juanita can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They blew past Lake Washington 31-0 at home. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Juanita's ten-point performance the match before.
Juanita can attribute much of their success to Nolan Mcwilliams, who picked up 170 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Dallas Sooto, who threw for 283 yards and a touchdown while completing 76.2% of his passes. Mcwilliams' longest reception was for an incredible 70 yards. Elliot Staples was another key contributor, rushing for 45 yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 6-2.
Mercer Island suffered a grim 28-6 defeat to Juanita in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Will Mercer Island have more luck at home instead of on the road?
