Despite the defeat, Trenton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mason VunCannon went 9-for-17 en route to 25 points and six rebounds. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 13-9 Fort White (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 67% over those games). As for Hilliard, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
