When it comes to explaining why Providence-St. Mel lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kenneth Miller. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Miller has scored all season. Robert Hughes Jr. was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
St. Francis de Sales' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Davione Doty led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerimiya Sims, who scored 16 points along with seven assists.
Providence-St. Mel has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for St. Francis de Sales, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-15.
Providence-St. Mel will be playing in front of their home fans against the Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Montini Catholic is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for St. Francis de Sales, they will head out on the road to challenge the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
