Basketball Game Preview: Rossville Christian Academy Wolves vs. Pillow Academy Mustangs

The Rossville Christian Academy Wolves will face off against the Pillow Academy Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Rossville Christian Academy has 12 straight victories, Pillow Academy has 18 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Friday, Rossville Christian Academy strolled past Bayou Academy with points to spare, taking the game 60-45. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 45th in Tennessee, while the Colts are ranked 156th in Mississippi), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rossville Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Fred Motley led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. The match was Motley's 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Portwood, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, Pillow Academy took a blow against Delta Streets Academy on Saturday, falling 81-37.

Rossville Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 games, which provided a massive bump to their 17-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Pillow Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-15.

Everything came up roses for Rossville Christian Academy against Pillow Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 75-36 win.
