Sangamon Valley/Tri-City comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last 22 games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Last Monday, Sangamon Valley/Tri-City was beaten by the Redskins 61-10. While losing is never fun, Sangamon Valley/Tri-City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 675th, while the Redskins are ranked 293rd).
Meanwhile, Arthur-Okaw Christian waltzed into their game on Monday with four straight wins but they left with five. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Chrisman 45-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Arthur-Okaw Christian has posted since November 24, 2023.
Avery Herschberger continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Addisyn Erwin was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with four steals.
Sangamon Valley/Tri-City dropped their record down to 0-22 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Arthur-Okaw Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 23-3.
Sangamon Valley/Tri-City came up short against the Conquering Riders in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 52-48. Can Sangamon Valley/Tri-City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
