The contest between Johnson County and East Laurens wasn't particularly close, with Johnson County falling 67-50. Johnson County has not had much luck with East Laurens recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Johnson County lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Keondria Jenkins, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of SaNoriya Norris, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
McKayela Tanner continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for East Laurens, scoring 22 points along with nine steals and six rebounds. The match was Tanner's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Deanna Lowther, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 18 rebounds.
Johnson County now has a losing record at 2-3. As for East Laurens, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Johnson County will head out on the road to face off against Georgia Military College at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Georgia Military College comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for East Laurens, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Jefferson County at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Jefferson County is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
