Charlotte will be defending their home turf for the first time on Thursday when they go up against Lemon Bay at Charlotte High School at 6:30 PM. It might come down to the wire as the game is expected to be close.
Charlotte had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. Charlotte weren't too far behind, but the team still lost 0-6 to Port Charlotte last Thursday.
Lemon Bay had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Hardee 8-6.
Lemon Bay's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Charlotte's loss dropped them down to 0-1. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contest, so their meeting could be a low-scoring affair.
