Riverside hasn't had much luck against Cleveland Central recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The two teams will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 6:30 p.m. One thing working in Riverside's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups.
On Thursday, everything went Riverside's way against Charleston as Riverside made off with an 18-2 win. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Allie Reed made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ann Brilye Hankins, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Hankins is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Ashley English, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Cleveland Central's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Yazoo County by a score of 6-5.
Jaida Williams made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Jada Kinney was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Riverside's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Cleveland Central, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 4-2.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Riverside has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .565. However, it's not like Cleveland Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .461. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Riverside might still be hurting after the 12-3 defeat they got from Cleveland Central in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Riverside avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
