Williamsport is a perfect 5-0 against Shamokin Area since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Millionaires will look to defend their home field against the Indians at 7:00 p.m. Williamsport is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
Williamsport came out on top against Mifflinburg on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Millionaires took their contest against the Wildcats 7-2. The victory continues a trend for the Millionaires in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.
Cole Deitrick made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Christian Franzen, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Williamsport's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't). Ryan Schur was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Shamokin Area came up short against Jersey Shore on Monday and fell 4-1.
Shamokin Area saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylan Price, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Williamsport's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Shamokin Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Shamokin Area's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Williamsport hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .346. It's a different story for Shamokin Area, though, as they've only averaged .176. Will they be able to contain Williamsport's hitters?
Williamsport took their victory against Shamokin Area in their previous meeting on April 8th by a conclusive 14-1 score. Will the Millionaires repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
