Germantown (Madison, Miss.) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat Yazoo County (Yazoo City, Miss.), 38-0, on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Dalton Bradfield in the first quarter, the Mavericks was up 17-0 at the half.
Germantown expanded its lead to 31 points entering the fourth quarter. GHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by
Jeremy Jordan to
Taury Dixon.
The Madison school also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 27-14.
The defeat comes as a step back for Yazoo County, who notched a 24-7 victory over Florence in its previous outing.
In a non-conference game next week Yazoo County (1-1) takes on Velma Jackson, and Germantown (2-0) will go up against Mendenhall also in a non-conference game.
