The Bassick Lions will head out on the road to take on the Bunnell Bulldogs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Connecticut (Bassick is ranked 127th, while Bunnell is ranked 150th).
On Thursday, Bassick came up short against Amistad and fell 54-47. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bassick in their matchups with Amistad: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, sadly, Bunnell is still looking for their first win of the season after 16 contests. The match between them and Joel Barlow wasn't particularly close, with Bunnell falling 49-34.
Bassick has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Bunnell, they dropped their record down to 0-16 with that defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Bassick didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Bunnell in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 46-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bassick since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
