The McClintock Chargers won against the North Canyon Rattlers last Tuesday with 61 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. McClintock enjoyed a cozy 61-45 win over North Canyon. Winning may never get old, but McClintock sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McClintock to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lamaiya Woodberry, who scored 26 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Woodberry has scored at least a third of McClintock's points. Another player making a difference was Jayla Baca, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
North Canyon's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Adams, who scored 15 points along with seven steals. Adams is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Mia Schmidlin was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds.
McClintock pushed their record up to 11-6 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for North Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
McClintock will be playing in front of their home fans against Fairfax at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for North Canyon, they will head out on the road to take on Sierra Linda at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sierra Linda is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
