Basketball Game Preview: Fairley Bulldogs vs. Memphis University School Owls

The Fairley Bulldogs are taking a road trip to square off against the Memphis University School Owls at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fairley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Memphis University School likes a good challenge.

Fairley is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since January 26, 2024 on Monday. They skirted past Memphis Central 60-57.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fairley to victory, but perhaps none more so than I'Zahvien Perkins, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 17 points. Perkins has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Issac Wright Jr. was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Memphis University School took on Shelbyville Central last Saturday. Memphis University School came out on top against Shelbyville Central by a score of 44-37. The victory was some much needed relief for the Owls as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Memphis University School's record now sits at 8-6. As for Fairley, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Fairley was taken down by Memphis University School 86-31 when the teams last played back in December of 2021. Can Fairley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
