The Woodstock Wolverines's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Douglass Astros at 3:00 p.m. on December 28th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Woodstock pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 65-55 to Harrison. While losing is never fun, Woodstock can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while Harrison is ranked 31st).
Despite the defeat, Woodstock got a solid performance out of lily conkell, who scored 21 points. The matchup was conkell's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Morghan Slater, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Douglass' recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 51-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Springs.
Woodstock's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-9. As for Douglass, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6-1.
Woodstock strolled past Douglass when the teams last played back in November of 2020 by a score of 56-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Woodstock since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
