After flying high against the Halifax Academy Vikings last Friday, the Harrells Christian Academy Crusaders came back down to earth. Harrells Christian Academy was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 37-36 to Cape Fear Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Harrells Christian Academy in their matchups with Cape Fear Academy: they've now lost three in a row.
Zicareian McNeil and Samiir Gibbs certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. McNeil scored 12 points along with three steals, while Gibbs scored nine points.
Cape Fear Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alexzander Wolf, who scored six points. Another player making a difference was Domas Undzenas, who scored four points along with six rebounds.
Harrells Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Cape Fear Academy, their victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harrells Christian Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Wake Christian Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Wake Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Thursday. Cape Fear Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Living Water Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Living Water Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 240th, while Cape Fear Academy is ranked 114th).
