The Fenway Panthers fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Cape Cod Academy 48-45. That's another feather in the cap for Fenway, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Cape Cod Academy lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mikey Santos, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Harrison Lauf, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Fenway's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Cape Cod Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fenway will stay at home for another game and welcome the at 4:00 p.m. on February 1st. Community Academy of Science & Health is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Cape Cod Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sharks at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Monomoy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Seahawks in Massachusetts (the Sharks are ranked 74th, while the Seahawks are ranked 306th).
