Volleyball Recap: Monday's Defeat Ends Mansfield's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Mansfield unfortunately witnessed the end of their 28-match winning streak on Monday. They fell 3-1 to the Wylie Pirates. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2018.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-18, 24-26, 25-19.

Mansfield lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Natalie Peak, who had 16 digs and four assists. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 10 digs per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Emery Thomson, who had 15 assists and nine digs.

Mansfield suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 44-2. As for Wylie, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 29-12.

Mansfield has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Keller on the 30th. As for Wylie, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Rockwall-Heath on the 30th.
