Melba has gone 6-1 against Glenns Ferry recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Mustangs will host the Pilots at 5:00 p.m. Melba is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
Melba made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Marsing, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Mustangs fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 5-3 on Friday. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Huskies recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Melba saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kali Adams, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Glenns Ferry never let their opponents score on Monday. They blew past Horseshoe Bend 17-0. Considering the Pilots have won 17 games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Taylor Martinez made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 14 matchups.
In other batting news, Peyton Stewart was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Hernandez, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Glenns Ferry is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12 runs. As for Melba, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Melba hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. However, it's not like Glenns Ferry struggles in that department as they've averaged .384. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Melba might still be hurting after the 16-3 loss they got from Glenns Ferry in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Mustangs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
