Basketball Recap: Brayden Lammers Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Tri County Northeast

There's no place like home for Hartington-Newcastle, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Tri County Northeast Wolfpack by a score of 46-35 on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hartington-Newcastle to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brayden Lammers, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 16 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Lammers a new career-high in blocks (five). Another player making a difference was Austin Sudbeck, who posted nine points and six boards.

Hartington-Newcastle smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Tri County Northeast's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landyn Servine, who earned 12 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Thatcher Lamp, who scored nine points and three steals.

Hartington-Newcastle's record is now 4-8. As for Tri County Northeast, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hartington-Newcastle will square off against Neligh-Oakdale at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. Hartington-Newcastle is facing Neligh-Oakdale at the right time seeing as Neligh-Oakdale is stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Tri County Northeast, they will challenge Homer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tri County Northeast will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Homer will have lost nine straight heading into Tuesday's match.
