It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Penn Hills Indians ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-42 victory over Fox Chapel. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Penn Hills has scored all year.
Despite the loss, Fox Chapel still got an impressive performance from Will Siegel, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Asher White, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Penn Hills' victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Fox Chapel, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Penn Hills won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Aliquippa at 4:30 p.m. on January 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Aliquippa is ranked 73rd, while Penn Hills is ranked 66th). As for Fox Chapel, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Plum at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
