Conway Christian has gone 7-2 against St. Joseph recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. Meanwhile, St. Joseph posted their closest victory since April 1, 2024 on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Atkins 10-9. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Trevor Jackson and Owen Coney did most of the damage at the plate: Jackson went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Coney scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That triple was Jackson's first of the season.
St. Joseph's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Conway Christian, their record now sits at 6-1.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Conway Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .532. However, it's not like St. Joseph struggles in that department as they've averaged .588. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
