Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Granite Hills

Granite Hills hadn't done well against Lindsay recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Grizzlies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Cardinals. The win was nothing new for the Grizzlies as they're now sitting on three straight.

Desia Perez made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Perez wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Atritha Joseph, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Yazlin Reyes also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Granite Hills hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lindsay struck out ten times.

Granite Hills' record now sits at 8-13. As for Lindsay, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-16-1.

Granite Hills has already played their next contest, a 10-8 defeat against Strathmore on the 12th. As for Lindsay, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 16-13 loss against Orosi on the 13th.
