Stephenson has gone 7-1 against Mt. Zion recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Jaguars will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Stephenson got the win against Douglass by a conclusive 12-1. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by nine runs or more this season.

Blakelon McClammy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Anthony Booker was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Romando Craddock, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Stephenson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Douglass only posted an OBP of .353.
Meanwhile, Mt. Zion had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Eagles.
Nick Pearson was a standout: he scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Mt. Zion: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Arthur Holt IV was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1.
Stephenson has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Mt. Zion, they pushed their record up to 8-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
Stephenson took their victory against Mt. Zion in their previous matchup back in March of 2020 by a conclusive 13-6 score. Do the Jaguars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
