The Byng Pirates will be playing at home against the Madill Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Byng has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 495 points over their last six games.
Byng put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They breezed by Marietta at home to the tune of 85-57. Given Byng's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while Marietta is ranked 367th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Madill beat Plainview 48-35 on Tuesday.
Ethan Wilkerson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Madill's points. Another player making a difference was Mason Roberts, who scored 11 points.
Byng is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Madill, their win bumped their record up to 20-2.
Byng and Madill were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in January, but Byng came up empty-handed after a 39-38 defeat. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Wilkerson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds.
