Baseball Recap: Our Lady of Mount Carmel Comes Up Short

Our Lady of Mount Carmel lost against Gerstell Academy back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Cougars fell 8-4 to Gerstell Academy. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Keith Smith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-1. He has become a key player for Our Lady of Mount Carmel: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Gerstell Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Our Lady of Mount Carmel will be playing in front of their home fans against Perry Hall Christian at 4:00 p.m. on the 11th. As for Gerstell Academy, they will square off against Glenelg Country at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
