Gentry is on a three-game streak of home losses, the Hornets a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Gentry Rams will take on the Greenville Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 70-30, which was the final score in Gentry's tilt against the Wolves on Wednesday. Gentry has not had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, Greenville was beaten by the Indians 54-24 on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Greenville has scored all season.
The losing side was boosted by Gymanuel Wells, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kolbie Williams, who scored five points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Greenville struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Gentry has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season. As for Greenville, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.
Gentry didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Hornets when the teams last played last Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 55-49 victory. Will Gentry repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
