It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Canyon View had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against the ALA - Gilbert North Eagles by a score of 34-24. The victory was familiar territory for the Jaguars, who have now won seven matchups in a row.

A big part of Canyon View's win came down to the chemistry between Brady Scott and his top target Braylon Anderson. Scott threw for 293 yards and three TDs while Anderson picked up 114 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 114 receiving yards gave Anderson a new career-high.

One reason for the win was Canyon View's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Dakari Galloway and David (Tiki) Teeples, who racked up all four sacks between them. Canyon View received some extra help from Dillion Jewell, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ben Livingston, who threw for 253 yards and two TDs, and also punched in one score on the ground. Weston Powell handled things on the ground, rushing for 88 yards.

Canyon View's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for ALA - Gilbert North, with the defeat, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-2.

Coming up, Canyon View will face off against Desert Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves' defense has only allowed 14.7 points per game this season, so the Jaguars' offense will have their work cut out for them. ALA - Gilbert North does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
