Like Worthington Christian, Bexley also got a great game from a two-way player: Zoe Lemon. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Lemon has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Davaney Prophet was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Alison Lefkowitz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Worthington Christian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-9. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Bexley, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.
Worthington Christian beat Bexley 13-9 when the teams last played on April 11th. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
