The Bayside Bears can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest on Thursday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 51-18 victory over Odyssey Charter School. With Bayside ahead 30-7 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Bayside got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Donia Moaoui out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Moaoui pulled down eight or more rebounds. Angelina Spence was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five steals and two blocks.
Despite the defeat, Odyssey Charter School saw an underclassman step up: Natalia DeJesus-Bruno scored six points along with five steals. DeJesus-Bruno is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Talyssa Hilaire, who scored three points along with three steals.
The win was the fourth in a row for Bayside, bringing their record for this year to 11-7. As for Odyssey Charter School, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.
Bayside will head out on the road to take on Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bayside's defense has only allowed 28.4 points per game this season, so Heritage's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Odyssey Charter School, they will be playing at home against Melbourne Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
