Towanda extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping them up to 3-1. They beat the Wellsboro Hornets by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-2. The Black Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hornets, too.
As for Wellsboro, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
For Wellsboro's part, Ady Frantz was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. Frantz has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
