In what's become a running theme this season, the Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Loomis 62-32 at home. The victory was nothing new for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller as they're now sitting on five straight.
It was another big night for Mikah O'Neill, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Taryn Arbuthnot, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
Loomis' loss came despite strong showings from Kinsey Lauby and Brooklyn Wiese. Lauby scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Wiese scored five points along with nine rebounds. Lauby is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played.
Sumner-Eddyville-Miller pushed their record up to 16-1 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.6 points. As for Loomis, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.
Sumner-Eddyville-Miller will face off against the Buffaloes at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Elm Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Monday. As for Loomis, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Wildcats at 6:25 p.m.
