Inland Valley recap October 8, 2013
Lavell Thomas of Arlington ran for the longest rushing play in Inland Valley this season against Valley View last week. Thomas ran for 80 yards on the play and finished with 103 on the day as his team topped the Eagles.
Rancho Verde was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in the league. The Mustangs defeated Poly 28-16 earlier in the week.
Vista del Lago's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brian Cisneros threw for 202 and 2 touchdowns and MALIK REID had 176 yards receiving. On the ground TERRELL LEE contributed 103 yards. DEANDRE KITE helped Vista del Lago's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 30 yards.
The Ravens' dynamic duo of Cisneros and REID proved to be unstoppable against JW North, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. KITE helped Vista del Lago's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 30 yards.
He went 12-28 with 1 interception.
6-foot-2 quarterback Chandler Drachslin of the Bears is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,032. He has also thrown 12 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Hakeem Eubanks. The Valley View star has 28 catches for 400 yards.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when Poly and Arlington face off next week.
An important game coming up in Inland Valley this week will be when Dennis Brown's team takes on Patrick McCarthy's team. At the moment, the Bears are in second, while the Lions are in sixth.
Arlington scaled the state rankings by moving to 284 from 373 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Lions were able to move up by topping Valley View 22-17.
