Video: MaxPreps Top 10 Games of the WeekSt. John's (Washington, D.C.) at (11) Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.)
Saturday, 3 p.m. Eastern timeWhy it's big: A win Saturday would give Gonzaga a perfect 10-0 regular season and the undisputed Washington Catholic Athletic Association regular season crown.
No. 11 Gonzaga joined the Xcellent 25 rankings from out of nowhere after upsetting then-No. 3 DeMatha on Oct. 16. The Eagles didn't let down in their next two games, beating Good Counsel and Archbishop Carroll by a combined 73-32.
St. John's (6-3) had won three in a row – including two shutouts – before a head-scratching 42-35 loss to Bishop McNamara last week. But consider this for your "upset alert" criteria: The Cadets have won nine of their last 13 games against Gonzaga.
Names to watch: Kyle Taylor, an Iowa commit with a three-star rating from 247Sports, leads a stingy Gonzaga defense that hasn't allowed over 20 points in any game this season. His older brother Miles Taylor is a starting strong safety for the Hawkeyes.
St. John's has three of 247Sports' top five prospects in Washington D.C. for the Class of 2016. However, four-star defensive end
Terrell Hall and Tennessee-bound tight end
Devante Brooks are injured. That leaves four-star linebacker
Aaron Hansford, a two-way talent who currently leads the team in receptions.
