LaBelle has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Clewiston Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Tuesday, LaBelle was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-48 to Lely.
Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Clewiston's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 31-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Okeechobee. Clewiston has struggled against Okeechobee recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kalyn Johnson, who scored eight points along with four steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Tyra Fields was another key contributor, scoring two points along with 16 rebounds.
LaBelle's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Clewiston, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.
LaBelle strolled past Clewiston when the teams last played back in November of 2023 by a score of 40-22. The rematch might be a little tougher for LaBelle since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
