The Manheim Central Barons will head out on the road to take on the Palmyra Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Manheim Central has given up an average of 11.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Manheim Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Eastern Lebanon County 31-14 on Monday. With that victory, the Barons brought their scoring average up to 7.5 runs per game.

Abby Logan and Kendal Newswanger did most of the damage at the plate: Logan went 4-for-5 with one home run, eight RBI, and five runs, while Newswanger fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and four runs while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances. Those four hits gave Logan a new career-high. Rilee Bender was another key player, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Manheim Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 9.6.
Meanwhile, Palmyra didn't have quite enough to beat Gettysburg on Thursday and fell 5-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost four in a row.
Anna Crawford put in work no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Crawford was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kate Shenk was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Manheim Central's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Palmyra, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4-1.
Manheim Central got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March of 2025 against Palmyra by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Barons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
