The Ambridge Bridgers pushed their score all the way to 61 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a rough 82-61 loss at the hands of Quaker Valley. Ambridge has struggled against Quaker Valley recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Quaker Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Joey Coyle out in front who scored 24 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. The matchup was Coyle's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Cox-Giles, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Ambridge's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Quaker Valley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ambridge will finish 2023 at home by hosting Bethel Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Quaker Valley, they will play host again and welcome Bishop Canevin, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
