The Schaeffer Academy Lions lost against the Grand Meadow Superlarks back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Schaeffer Academy suffered a tough 67-45 loss at the hands of Grand Meadow. Schaeffer Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Schaeffer Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lillian Morrisey, who scored 15 points along with two blocks, and Linnea Ekbom who scored eight points along with eight rebounds. Morrisey is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last nine games she's played.
Schaeffer Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Schaeffer Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Grand Meadow, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-8.
Schaeffer Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Rushford-Peterson at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Rushford-Petersonpresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Schaeffer Academy in Minnesota (Rushford-Peterson is ranked 126th, while Schaeffer Academy is ranked 340th). As for Grand Meadow, they and Spring Grove will face off at 7:15 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Grand Meadow is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
