Canton has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Massena Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Canton strolled past Franklin Academy with points to spare, taking the game 53-34. Canton pushed the score to 46-19 by the end of the third, a deficit Franklin Academy cut but never quite recovered from.
Meanwhile, Massena stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past Salmon River, posting a 74-35 victory on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Massena has posted yet this season.
Massena relied on the efforts of Colin Patterson, who scored 22 points along with three steals, and Taylor Mitchell, who scored 22 points along with five assists and four steals. Mitchell hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Boyea, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Canton pushed their record up to 7-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Massena, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Canton strolled past Massena in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 54-38. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Mitchell, who scored 21 points along with three steals. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Canton still be able to contain him? There's only one way to find out.
