Big Island I recap October 22, 2013
Hilo extended the longest winning streak in Big Island I this week by beating Kea'au, 41-26. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Vikings.
Hilo led the league in scoring this week after putting up 41 points on the Cougars.
Kealakehe's Kaimi Wilson and Kuikanoa "Keaho" Kaakimaka have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Wilson has thrown for 383 yards this season, while Kaakimaka has 12 catches for 178 yards. David Baldwin's team's Tristin Spikes leads the league in rushing yards with 566.
The Waveriders made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,799 from 8,443. The advance stemmed from a 31-14 victory over Waiakea last week.
