Baseball Recap: Deer Creek-Mackinaw Takes a Loss

If Deer Creek-Mackinaw was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Fieldcrest last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chiefs fell just short of the Limestone Rockets by a score of 6-4 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Chiefs have suffered since March 26th.

Deer Creek-Mackinaw got a good showing from Keagan Brown, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Brown has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Chuck Hathaway was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Parker Eggenberger, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

As for Limestone, they will head out on the road to square off against Dunlap at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Rockets surely won't give up without a fight.
