The Milaca Wolves lost against the Foley Falcons back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Milaca took a 66-52 bruising from Foley. While losing is never fun, Milaca can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 361st, while Foley is ranked 148th).
Several Wolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was George Roehl, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Roehl has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Marudas, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
Milaca's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Foley, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
Milaca will head out on the road to square off against Pierz at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Milaca focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Thursday. As for Foley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 68-36 loss vs. Sauk Centre on the 9th.
