It was a good run, but the King's Academy Lions unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Florence Christian 41-35. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for King's Academy in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.
Florence Christian was led to victory by Anna kate Huggins and Emerson Poston. Huggins scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Poston scored ten points along with eight steals and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Huggins has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Elise Hicks, who scored four points along with two steals.
King's Academy's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7. As for Florence Christian, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
King's Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Florence Christian is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. Pee Dee Academy and the Eagles are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
