Prince George hasn't had much luck against Matoaca recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Royals will host the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
14 must be Prince George's lucky number: they beat Colonial Heights with that score not once but twice on Monday. The Royals beat the Colonials by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 14-7. The Royals haven't had any issues with the Colonials recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Payton Finney was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one triple.

Moody went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Sars went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Those three runs gave Moody a new career-high. Kaitlyn Hacker was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Matoaca put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. They never let Thomas Dale get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory.
Thomas Dale's batters probably weren't too happy with Kaylee Hodges, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 17 Ks (she gave up zero walks).
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Savannah Wright, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Raven Crabtree, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Matoaca kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Matoaca is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.1 runs on average over those games. As for Prince George, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5.
Prince George suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Matoaca when the teams last played back in April. Will the Royals have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
