Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Northpoint Christian's 14th in Last 16 Outings

Northpoint Christian's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the St. George's Gryphons 11-1. Considering the Trojans have won 20 matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Josie Beth Smith was excellent, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ella Myrick, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.

Northpoint Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for St. George's, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-10.

Northpoint Christian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-4 win against University School of Jackson on the 6th. St. George's does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
